: Production Engineer
Purpose of the Role
The Production Engineer is responsible for analyzing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes within the plant. The goal is to enhance quality, safety, flexibility, and reliability of production by initiating and implementing improvement projects and supporting operational teams. This position requires a hands-on approach, significant presence on the shop floor, and strong analytical skills.

Position in the Organization
Reports to: Production Manager and acts as substitute for: Production Manager during absence. Collaborates with: Shift Leaders, Operators, Logistics, Process Engineering, Finance, Technical Department, Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Implement improvements to minimize risks.

  • Process Analysis and Optimization

  • Analyze production processes and identify bottlenecks.

  • Develop and implement solutions to improve capacity and workflow.

  • Perform OEE analyses and translate data into actionable improvements.

  • Improvement Projects

  • Initiate, lead, and monitor projects focused on productivity, quality, safety, and flexibility.

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.

  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Coordinator to strengthen improvement initiatives.

  • Data and Reporting

  • Develop reports and perform calculations for capacity and resource planning.

  • Monitor KPIs and identify deviations; propose corrective measures.

  • Operational Support

  • Act as back-up for the Production Manager in daily operational management.

  • Work closely with Shift Leaders and Operators to ensure effective implementation of improvements

  • Continuous improvement of OEE and process performance.

  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and improvement projects.

  • Experience in a production environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP is a plus).

  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English.
